I didn't mention it before, but sometimes I experience similar problems. It looks that if all is OK, you have no problems, but as soon as there is something wrong, Caesar CD is the first to show that. There certainly seems to be some problem in the Caesar CD. I have a PII-266 with 64MB, AWE64, #9 Revolution 3D (more details can be provided if needed). I'm playing the updated version of the game (ie. If I eject and reload the CD another instance of the game starts up and runs into the same problem.Ĭan someone tell me what the problem is? Re-installing seems to cure it for a while, but then this problem seems to spontaneously crop up again. If I click "OK" the same little windows pops up again. This happens even if I start the game by loading the CD and choosing "Play" from the autorun menu. "Missing CD: Please replace your Caesar III CD in your CD-ROM drive" When I start Caesar III, the opening frames appear, then when the game gets to the point of "loading sounds" it pops up a little window saying: Now I'm starting to think this game just doesn't like me. The second time it happened I cursed a little, but figured it must still be my fault somehow, and reinstalled.
Well, this is driving me nuts! The first time this problem occurred I just figured I'd done something nasty to the installation and re-installed.
